It took only one pitch for the Milwaukee Brewers to get on the scoreboard on Wednesday night when Jackson Chourio crushed a game-opening solo shot. They wouldn't score again until six innings later.
But after nine innings, Milwaukee completed a 6-2 comeback win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, moving them one more win from dethroning the back-to-back champions and advancing to the World Series.
And thanks to back-to-back home runs from Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell, chasing Blake Snell, the Brewers were able to make MLB history while putting the Dodgers on the ropes.
The Game 3 victory became Milwaukee's fifth come-from-behind win of the playoffs, tying the most for any team in their first seven games of a postseason with the 1996 New York Yankees and the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies, who both went on to win the World Series, according to MLB.com's Sarah Langs.
Overall, Milwaukee is now 6-1 during their playoff run, only falling once by one run in Game 3 of their National League Division Series win against the San Diego Padres.
MIL LAD is the 8th time two teams met in the postseason & resulted in a sweep and THEN met in the following Postseason

The only team to BE swept & then win a rematch the next PS is the 1923 Yankees (swept in ‘22 by NYG, won in 6 in ‘23)
Thus, no sweep backs ! Yet @EliasSports https://t.co/JqtYRnCi9C
Nothing matters if the Brewers don't finish the job, as the franchise's recent period of setting new regular-season highs and reaching the National League Championship Series last season before losing to the Dodgers has been working toward this goal for years.
And now the 2026 Brewers are one game away from arguing as the greatest team in franchise history. The Brewers' only World Series appearance came back in 1982 while representing the American League, a series they would lose to the St. Louis Cardinals.
