A long-frustrated fan base is guaranteed to experience World Series glory

Thanks to their 6-4, come-from-behind win on Thursday night, the Milwaukee Brewers clinched their first league pennant in 44 years by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

That means they are now just four wins away from their first World Series championship after 56 years in Milwaukee.

It also guarantees that one long-suffering fan base is going to experience World Series glory for the first time ever.

Or at least for the first time since a large portion of its fan base has been alive.

Long-frustrated fan base will see World Series championship

Whether the Brewers end up playing the Cleveland Guardians or Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series, somebody is going to experience something new.

The Brewers and Rays have never won the World Series.

If they are able to pull it off, they would be a first-time champion.

The Guardians, meanwhile, have not won the World Series since 1948 when they were led by Lou Boudreau, Bob Lemon, Bob Feller and a relief pitcher by the name of Satchel Paige.

You would have to be at least 78 years old to have been born as a Cleveland fan during that championship.

You would probably be at least in your mid-late 80s to even have a distant memory of it happening.

While the Rays and Guardians have been to the World Series multiple times over the past 20-30 years, they have not won any of them. All of this means that a lot of people are going to get to experience the thrill of a championship they have never seen.

The other big part of this is that all three teams are smaller-market, low-payroll teams, which is going to be a fascinating plot line to follow as the league gets set to enter a massive labor dispute where a salary cap and salary floor will be the main fight.
