Needing one more goal to complete an improbable comeback and steal a point for the Detroit Red Wings, Alex DeBrincat reached a career milestone in the final 30 seconds of regulation on Tuesday night.
DeBrincat's power-play goal at 19:43 of the third period tied the game 3-3 after Detroit entered the final frame trailing 3-0.
And to make the moment even more memorable, the goal was the 300th of DeBrincat's career. Detroit would eventually lose the game to the Seattle Kraken in a shootout, but DeBrincat's heroics — he also registered an assist on an earlier goal for a two-point night — awarded the Red Wings a much-needed team point for the standings.
The game-tying goal gave DeBrincat tallies in back-to-back games for the first time this season. He now has six goals and five assists for 11 points, with a +9 through nine games.

DeBrincat, 28, posted career-highs across the board in 2025-26, finishing with 41 goals (tied career high), 44 assists and 85 points.
Career-wise, the Michigan native and former second-round pick also surpassed 300 assists this season. With many more games left in the season and years left in his career, DeBrincat has 300 goals, 306 helpers and 606 points in 705 NHL games played.
Locked in with Detroit thanks to the new seven-year, $91 million contract extension he signed earlier in October, DeBrincat will now try to reach more milestones as a Red Wing for years to come.
