Browns' Jerry Jeudy mum on trade desire amid modest start to season

This past Monday, first-year Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken insisted that the Browns are "better with" Jerry Jeudy than without the wide receiver who has been linked with moves to other teams ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline.

On Wednesday, Jeudy was asked about his uncertain future. He may have said plenty by what he elected not to say.

Jerry Jeudy could have confirmed he wants to stay with the Browns, but...

Per Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal, Jeudy declined to confirm whether or not he has spoken with Browns general manager Andrew Berry about the trade deadline.

"I'm going to keep that," Jeudy responded to a question about potential talks with Berry.

Jeudy was also asked if he would embrace receiving a bigger role with a different club.

"I'm focused on this week, man. I'm not answering no type of questions like that," he said.

Jeudy was a hero of Cleveland's 13-10 win over the rival Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, as his 33-yard catch-and-run on a 3rd-and-5 play set up what became a game-winning field goal. That said, the 27-year-old has recorded just 12 receptions for 150 yards and no touchdowns since Week 1 of the campaign.

Jerry Jeudy has seen, heard trade rumors

The Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly among the teams that could become buyers before the trade deadline and could acquire a pass-catcher such as Jeudy.

"I mean, you see it around, but you don't do nothing about it," Jeudy said about the chatter regarding his future. "You see it, but you can't do nothing about it. You just continue to do what you do every day."

As of Thursday morning, Jeudy was on track to be with the 4-2 Browns when they play at the 1-5 Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday. On Thursday, DraftKings Sportsbook had Cleveland as a 1.5-point road favorite for that contest.

One wonders if the number of times Jeudy is targeted at Tennessee's Nissan Stadium could impact whether or not he has conversations with Berry about a possible trade next week.
