The Indiana Fever are officially parting ways with general manager Amber Cox.
On Friday, the franchise took to social media to announce the departure of Cox, the Fever's chief operating officer and general manager.
They added that the move was "effective immediately."
"Cox leaves the organization after helping the Fever advance to the WNBA playoffs two consecutive seasons, including an unprecedented run to Game 5 of the WNBA Semifinals in 2025, a franchise-record 28-win season in 2026, and the capture of the 2025 WNBA Commissioner's Cup championship," the organization said in a statement.

Mel Raines, president and CEO of PS&E, also shared a few words about Cox.
"Through her two seasons with the Fever, Amber has helped us navigate the seismic growth of both the WNBA and our franchise," Raines said. "We're grateful for her contributions and wish her the very best moving forward."
Finally, the franchise said it will begin a national search for the Fever's next general manager.
It's also worth noting that the announcement came shortly after Fever president Kelly Krauskopf stepped down.
Cox became general manager and chief operating officer of the Fever in 2024, according to NBC Sports. She replaced former general manager Lin Dunn, who stayed with the Fever in an advisory role. Before taking the job with Indiana, Cox was the COO of the Dallas Wings, vice president of sports for the Connecticut Sun and COO of the Phoenix Mercury.
Cox has been part of the franchise's rise with star player Caitlin Clark in the fold. Per NBC Sports, the team has "set viewership records since Clark came in as the No. 1 pick in 2024."
