The Texas Longhorns are dealing with another significant injury setback involving one of their most important offensive players as they prepare for the next stretch of their SEC schedule.
The news comes one day after Texas snapped a two-game losing streak with a 34-27 victory over then-No. 7 Ole Miss at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.
ESPN's Pete Thamel took to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, reporting that senior left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the remainder of the 2026 season with a left knee injury, citing sources.
"Sources: Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury against Ole Miss on Saturday. Goosby is the country’s top NFL prospect at left tackle, as ESPN’s Field Yates ranked him the No. 8 pick in his most recent mock draft."

The offensive lineman later returned to the sideline wearing street clothes and using crutches, providing an early indication of the severity of the setback.
Losing Goosby leaves quarterback Arch Manning without his established blindside protector as Texas enters a critical stretch of its SEC schedule.
The 6-foot-7, 325-pound Melissa, Texas native earned first-team All-SEC honors from the conference's coaches in 2025 and entered his second full season as a starter.
His experience has made him a key part of Texas' offensive line, particularly in pass protection. With Manning leading the offense, the Longhorns must now adjust to losing their starting left tackle for the remainder of the season.
Saturday's injury represents another setback for Goosby's left knee. He previously suffered a bone bruise during preseason practice in August but recovered in time for the season opener and started the Longhorns' first seven games.
His absence compounds the injury concerns facing head coach Steve Sarkisian. Texas played without standout pass rusher Colin Simmons against Ole Miss, while receiver Cam Coleman exited Saturday's game with an apparent shoulder injury.
The Longhorns improved to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play with Saturday's victory, keeping their postseason aspirations alive despite mounting personnel challenges.
Texas now turns its attention to Mississippi State, with senior backup Andre Cojoe positioned to assume an expanded role protecting Manning after replacing Goosby vs. the Rebels.
Maintaining consistent pass protection without the senior pass-protector will be a challenge for Sarkisian's offense as the Longhorns navigate their remaining regular-season schedule.
