Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream had a chance to go up 3-1 in the WNBA Finals on Saturday. However, they lost 67-62 at State Farm Arena to the Golden State Valkyries, which tied the championship series 2-2. The star forward gave a brutally honest take on her performance after the defeat.

Reese finished with eight points, nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks. While it was a solid stat line, it was way below what she produced in the last two games. The three-time All-Star produced 30 points, 16 rebounds and three assists in Game 2, and delivered 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in Game 3.

The good news for her and Atlanta is they have proven that they can win at Chase Center. Games 5 and 7, if necessary, will be played there and they have win at least one of them while holding court to win the title.

Angel Reese shares take on her Game 4 performance

Reese addressed the media after the game. She acknowledged what she failed to do and stressed that she is already looking forward to Game 5.

“I think I rushed a lot of my shots and I didn’t take my time and finish around the basket like I’ve been doing in the last 3 games,” Reese said. “It happens, and I’m just looking forward to the next game and just be better.”

Rhyne Howard led the way for Atlanta with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Jordin Canada contributed 10 points and four assists. Isobel Borlase added 10 points and two rebounds. However, no other Dream player scored in double digits.

Game 5 will be played on Monday at Ballhalla at 8 p.m ET. The series will shift again to Atlanta for Game 6, with the venue not yet announced.
