Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell didn't go catchless on Sunday.
Late in the second quarter, trailing the New York Giants 14-6, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud launched a pass downfield that landed in Dell's hands. He then turned upfield, taking it from the Texans 27-yard line to the Giants 30-yard line for a 43-yard gain.
It must have felt sweet for Dell after missing nearly two years.
Dell, a 2023 third-round pick, suffered an ACL, MCL and LCL tear in his left knee in a 27-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 21, 2024. He also dislocated his kneecap and suffered meniscus damage. The injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2024 season and the 2025 season.

The Texans activated Dell, who turns 27 on Oct. 29, on Saturday. After missing 22 months, many wondered if the WR would have any trepidation about returning and taking his first hit. He said he was looking forward to it.
"I know, it's a lot of questions, like, 'How's it gonna look when he gets tackled,'" Dell said earlier this week (h/t Field Level Media). "I don't care about none of that. I'm ready to get tackled. I'm gonna be joyful. Y'all gonna see the passion I have after I had that first catch."
Dell spiked the ball after his catch to express his jubilation. Expect him to be grateful for the rest of the season. It was a long road for the WR to return, but he's back now and may be a solid contributor for Houston.
When healthy, Dell has been one of Stroud's top targets. In his first two seasons, he caught 98 passes for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns.
