One of the stories of the NBA offseason was the Boston Celtics' decision to trade their former NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The trade separated Brown from his running mate Jayson Tatum, a duo that had become one of the best in the NBA. What once seemed like an innocent breakup between the duo has turned messy over the last week or so.
Both Tatum and Brown have shared different opinions of their current relationship, most recently with Brown insinuating there is a dislike between the two. Brown has felt that Tatum was aware of a possible trade and had something to do with him being traded from Boston to Philadelphia, but a recent update from former Celtics player Brian Scalabrine revealed that may not be true.
Scalabrine went on his radio show Monday and revealed that his sources have indicated that rather than Tatum being involved, it was instead Brown who made demands and forced his way out of Boston.
"My understanding of this thing is that he demanded to be traded," Scalabrine said of Brown. "Jaylen Brown lives in his own reality. He gave a list of demands and said, 'If you don’t do this, trade me...' And he was rooting to get traded to Milwaukee, including calling some other teammates about, ‘Hey, man, what do you think of Milwaukee? We should go there.'"
Jaylen Brown was reportedly the one who demanded a trade from Boston and was pushing for a move to Milwaukee, per @Scalabrine

“I think Jaylen Brown lives in his own reality. But because it wasn’t being documented that he demanded to be traded, then I don’t think that anybody,… pic.twitter.com/mnZGpK6LfQ
Brown is someone that is always up to date on social media happenings, so it feels very likely that he will hear the comments made by Scalabrine and respond back to them via one of his social media channels.
That response will be something to keep an eye on, as what Scalabrine revealed on Monday goes against everything that was reported back in the summer regarding the trade discussions involving Brown.
If Jaylen Brown had requested a trade back in June, that would've been widely reported and we would've heard about it.

In fact, it was widely reported that Brown never once demanded a trade and it was Boston's decision to deal him.
Funny how stories are made four months after.
The declining relationship between Tatum and Brown has been unfortunate to see, as it was not that long ago that the duo was among the favorites in the NBA.
Nov. 10 will be an intriguing date to keep an eye on, as that will be a night when Boston travels to Philadelphia and the former teammates meet on the court for the first time since being split up.
