Jorge Posada reveals he doesn't feel welcome with Yankees despite his championship legacy

Despite helping the New York Yankees capture four World Series titles during his legendary career, Jorge Posada apparently doesn't feel the same connection to the organization that he once did.

Jorge Posada no longer feels welcomed by the Yankees organization

The franchise icon spoke with MLB insiders Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman on Tuesday and made a shocking revelation about his relationship with the organization.

Posada was asked if joining the Yankees coaching staff could work if given the opportunity and his answer was a bit stunning.

"It could, but I don't think they want me there, to tell you the truth," Posada said during the interview. "I don't feel welcome when I go there. Even in spring training, I don't feel like they want me there, so I don't go."

Posada further explained that he doesn't know where that stems from, but it's a tough feeling to go to spring training and show up at Yankee Stadium and not feel wanted.

Comments from Jorge Posada highlight a major organizational issue for Yankees

Posada isn't the first former Yankee to recently speak out, as both Anthony Rizzo and C.C. Sabathia have recently spoken about the organization needing a structural overhaul.

That stems from New York having not won a World Series since 2009 and only reaching the Fall Classic once in that time span. Each of the previous two postseason have resulted in the Yankees being eliminated from the postseason in the ALDS by a division rival.

There is a major organizational issue when several former players who were fan favorites are speaking out so harshly about the franchise.

Will the organization actually make changes?

At some point, it would seem that general manager Brian Cashman may listen to the outside noise and it may ignite something in him. At a certain point, when former players are starting to turn on the team and speak out, something has to be changed.

The comments from Posada on Tuesday may be the final straw that makes the light turn on and help Cashman build a World Series-winning team for the first time in almost 20 seasons.
