'Let my guys down': Eagles' Landon Dickerson blasts his performance in loss to Cowboys

Shortly after the Philadelphia Eagles suffered a 38-21 home loss to the rival Dallas Cowboys that dropped Philadelphia to 2-5 on Monday night, second-year Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell suggested he and his defensive teammates were responsible for the defeat.

It seems like there was plenty of blame to go around among Eagles players following the club's latest loss.

Landon Dickerson feels he "just wasn’t good enough" against the Cowboys

"It’s frustrating," Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson said about his performance against the Cowboys, per Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. "I let my guys down. I didn’t play good enough. These guys work their a— off to come in here and compete every day. I just wasn’t good enough."

Before Monday, Dickerson hadn't played since he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury following the Eagles' Week 1 win over the Washington Commanders. As Cayden Steele of NJ Advance Media explained, Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams beat Dickerson on two key fourth-quarter plays, one of which resulted in a costly sack of Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee.

"F—ing the two plays at the end, f—ing losing us the game," Dickerson said about those moments. "...You let your guys down. Simple as that. It hurts."

Landon Dickerson believes Eagles aren't "quitting" amid tough season

Philadelphia QB1 Jalen Hurts will be sidelined for the remainder of this season after doctors discovered multiple blood clots in his lungs. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is now expected to make veteran players available to contending clubs ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline, but running back Saquon Barkley nevertheless challenged his teammates after Monday's loss to "never quit" and "never give up."

"Yeah, right now we’re fighting, and I guess that’s one positive thing to take away," Dickerson said about the Eagles competing on Monday night. "Nobody’s quitting, and that’s what you want to see."

Dickerson and Co. will look to do more than just put up a fight when the Eagles play at the 1-4-1 Washington Commanders this coming Sunday night. As of Tuesday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had Philadelphia as a 4.5-point underdog for that game.
