The Minnesota Vikings are undefeated heading out of Week 7 of the NFL schedule, which is something that's both exciting for the team and shocking to the NFL world.
It's safe to say that NFL power rankings didn't have the Vikings on top heading into the season, but boy, that's changed.
The Vikings are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. How wild is that? Quarterback Kyler Murray is doing enough to guide the team's offense, and the team's defense is also considered one of the strongest in the NFL.
Following Week 7 of the NFL, the league's official website has released its power rankings. Guess who's on top?
Yes, the Vikings have the No. 1 spot in the NFL's power rankings going into Week 8. Nick Shook of the NFL's site sings the praises of the Vikings.
"Week 7 claimed two of the three remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, leaving the Vikings as the last unbeaten squad standing," he notes in the piece. "They climbed to the mountaintop by winning in their familiar fashion, with defense leading the way."
He adds, "Brian Flores’ unit is unquestionably elite and getting more creative with its approach each week. If the offense ever catches up, Minnesota will become a strong Super Bowl favorite."
That's a huge statement to say they could be a Super Bowl favorite. As for that defense, Minnesota's D leads the NFL in scoring defense and multiple major analytical categories through Week 7, so that says a lot about defensive coordinator Flores.
