A recent report indicated that the Las Vegas Raiders could at least consider parting ways with Maxx Crosby ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline if a team in need of a proven pass-rusher were willing to give up a pair of first-round draft picks for his services.
One of the potential landing spots for Crosby mentioned in that piece was a Dallas Cowboys side that has been linked with the 29-year-old since early 2026. This past Tuesday, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said that it was "unlikely" he would make a blockbuster trade before the deadline.
During a Friday appearance on Dallas sports radio station 105.3 The Fan, Jones expanded on his mindset.
As shared by Jon Machota of The Athletic, Jones said that "it would have to be a dynamic situation to give up (draft) picks" for a proven player before the trade deadline.
History shows Jones could experience a change of heart if his 3-4 Cowboys earn a win at home over the 2-5 Arizona Cardinals this coming Sunday. As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had Dallas as a seven-point favorite over Arizona.
The Cowboys trail only the 4-2-1 New York Giants in the NFC East standings amid the Giants' Week 8 bye. That said, Jones hinted that he "absolutely" would take calls on his own players following the Arizona game.
"There's no such thing as not entertaining (trade offers)," Jones explained. "...Just because you would go there doesn't mean you'd do it, but it's worth considering or thinking about."
Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, who had his rights retained for 2026 via the franchise tag, became the subject of trade rumors before Week 7. It's unclear what Jones could want for Pickens this fall.
As it pertains to the first Sunday of November, the Cowboys have lost four in a row to the Cardinals and eight of their last nine matchups versus Arizona. Jones would like to see that run of dominance end at AT&T Stadium this weekend.
"It’s real, and we need to change that … that was such a disappointment last year when we got beat. We really have to be at our best," Jones said about how Arizona has been a thorn in Dallas' side.
