Jaguars-Ravens 'TNF' takeaways: Gritty Jacksonville exploits shorthanded Baltimore

With Lamar Jackson out and Joe Fagnano under center for the Baltimore Ravens, the Jacksonville Jaguars cruised to an easy win on the "Thursday Night Football" stage.

The Jaguars beat the Ravens 33-10, doing enough on offense and dominating defensively against their undermanned opponent. And even more important than how Trevor Lawrence played, the Jaguars defense put up their best performance of the season.

Not only did they keep the Ravens out of the end zone until the final minutes of the game, but they held Baltimore to just 227 yards all game and created three turnovers thanks to a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Key takeaway: Baltimore is in serious trouble without Lamar Jackson

Fagnano endured a miserable outing in his first NFL start after coming in on Sunday due to injuries in front of him on the depth chart. He completed 10-of-18 but for only 60 yards while tossing a pair of costly picks. Fagnano left the night with a pedestrian quarterback rating of 22.7.

And while it's not really fair to blame an undrafted rookie out of UConn for not being ready to lead any team to success right away, it's difficult to imagine Baltimore having a shot with Fagnano or even the recently acquired veteran option of Jacoby Brissett.

On one hand, Jackson hasn't been announced as out for the season. However, he was placed on injured reserve and will have to miss at least four games. Now 4-5, the Ravens could fall way too far out of the AFC North race and for a wild-card spot.

Baltimore's only hope is for Derrick Henry to carry the offense, something he's capable of doing, yet was unable to do against Jacksonville. Henry entered the day with 632 yards on the season and then added 57 on 17 rushing attempts.

Player of the game: Trevor Lawrence

Despite multiple defensive players, most notably Montaric Brown, who made three solo tackles and picked off a pass, Lawrence's efficiency and ability to extend plays was on full display. He involved nine different receivers and connected for over 60 yards with three of them.

Most importantly, and as has been the case most of the season, Lawrence was careful with the ball. He was 16-of-26 for 242 yards with one touchdown pass and no turnovers.

It's now up to the Jaguars to keep building on their two-game win streak. And for the Ravens, try to avoid being one-dimensional offensively and hope Jackson does eventually return this season.
