Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta seemed prepared to make multiple acquisitions ahead of the NFL trade deadline, which arrives at 4:00 p.m. ET on Nov. 10, when he landed offensive lineman Cam Jurgens from the Philadelphia Eagles in early October.
However, the Ravens' situation changed when starting quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand that left him needing surgery and could cause him to miss the rest of the season on the same day that Baltimore fell to 4-4.
Recent whispers have suggested that the Ravens could now trade running back Derrick Henry before the sun sets next Tuesday. For a Casino.org piece published on Thursday, NFL insider Jason La Canfora shared an update on the Henry trade rumors.
"Multiple execs told me they think the Ravens could get third-round value for Henry," La Canfora explained. "After giving away a 2028 second-round pick to the Eagles for struggling (and concussed at the time) offensive lineman Cam Jurgens, this team badly needs additional draft capital."
La Canfora noted that "the industry believes DeCosta will be too stubborn to sell" before Nov. 10, and the fact that DeCosta plans to acquire journeyman quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals would lead one to believe the executive isn't punting on the remainder of the season.
That said, the Ravens would fall to 4-5 if they lose to the 5-2 Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. As of Thursday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Baltimore as a 10-point home underdog for that game.
Prior to the completion of the trade to Baltimore, the Cardinals restructured the contract of QB Jacoby Brissett, converting $2.7M of his remaining $5.4M salary into a signing bonus.

The Ravens will now owe Brissett a base salary of $2.7M if the deal is completed today prior to…
As for the Ravens' future beyond 2026, it appears that at least a few quarterback-needy teams around the league think that Jackson and the Ravens could agree to break up at some point before the 2027 NFL Draft gets underway. If that's the case, DeCosta could begin somewhat of a franchise reset before Nov. 10.
"[Henry] is 32, where almost all running back careers expire, and the Ravens are going to be getting younger next season, especially if they try to carry Jackson at an $84M cap hit," La Canfora added.
The New York Giants reportedly could "pivot" and call the Ravens about Henry if the Giants don't want to match the Indianapolis Colts' asking price for star ball-carrier Jonathan Taylor. Additionally, the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings could potentially trade for Henry before the deadline.
