The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a tough test against the No. 1 Miami Hurricanes this Saturday.
The game is in South Bend, so Notre Dame has home-field advantage, but the Hurricanes haven't lost all season and look like a College Football Playoff title contender.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that Miami star wide receiver Malachi Toney is out with an injury, which is a crushing blow to Mario Cristobal's team.
The Hurricanes not having Toney bodes well for Marcus Freeman and the Irish, but the Notre Dame coach is making sure to still focus plenty, saying Miami has "players all over" the roster.
"They've got a long list of guys that they can put on the field to be the 11th player. It's not always the position as much as it is the player. There's players all over. There's great running backs, there's good tight ends, there's good young wide receivers who can step up," Freeman said, via Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.
Toney is top-five in the entire country in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, so it is a major blow for Miami. Toney had six receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown in last season's Notre Dame-Miami showdown, so this might be a big weight off Notre Dame's shoulders. Either way, Freeman is still trying to figure out a way to get a victory.
