Mario Cristobal building an elite WR recruiting class with Miami Hurricanes

Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes could be building something special with their 2027 recruiting class.

As a whole, it's a recruiting class that's stacked. The Hurricanes boast 21 commitments in a class that's currently ranked No. 2 in the country.

Cristobal's class got a huge boost on Thursday when 5-star wideout Brysen Wright committed to the Hurricanes over Florida and Texas.

Previously the top wideout in the 2028 class, Wright reclassified to 2027 to join Miami a year early.

He's also joining what appears to be an elite 2027 wide receiver room.

Even with the reclassification to 2027, Wright is ranked as the No. 3 wideout in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

He joins fellow 5-star wide receiver recruit Nick Lennear and 5-star athlete A'mir Sears as the crown jewels of Cristobal's class.

Lennear is ranked as the No. 4 wideout in the country, just behind Wright. Sears can play wide receiver or cornerback and is ranked as the No. 1 overall athlete recruit in the class of 2027.

Let's not forget, pending a transfer, Malachi Toney will also be a junior at Miami next season, and all these elite recruits will get to learn from him and benefit from his "gravity" on the field.

From Opa Locka, Florida, Lennear caught 25 receptions for 376 yards and nine touchdowns in seven games at Carol City.

At Miami Columbus, Sears caught 19 receptions for 285 yards and four touchdowns on offense while also notching five interceptions, four passes defended, three tackles for loss and 16 total tackles as a cornerback. He played in 10 games.

Lastly, at Mandarin High, Wright caught 46 passes for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns in 10 games played.

That's elite production heading to Coral Gables, and Cristobal and his staff haven't even gotten a hold of these players yet.
