College football is entering its final stretch, and that means every game's stakes are high. ESPN's "College GameDay" is heading to South Bend, Indiana, on Saturday, Nov. 7, for a major college football showdown between two programs with lots at stake.
The pregame show will broadcast live from the Library Lawn at the University of Notre Dame, running from 9 a.m. to noon ET. Viewers can watch on ESPN, ESPNU, the ESPN App and Disney+.
Rece Davis will lead the show alongside Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, "Stanford" Steve Coughlin, Jen Lada, Jess Sims and Pete Thamel. Actor Jason Sudeikis will also join the crew as the celebrity guest picker.
The reason for the trip is a matchup that could have a major impact on the College Football Playoff picture. No. 1 Miami will head to No. 11 Notre Dame, and kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on NBC and Peacock.
There's a lot riding on this one for both teams. Miami enters the weekend as the nation's top-ranked team, while Notre Dame will have the benefit of playing in front of its home crowd. With the postseason picture taking shape, this is the kind of matchup that could influence both playoff positioning and seeding.
A Notre Dame victory would give the Fighting Irish a major statement win, help convince the CFP committee that they should be in the 12-team field and strengthen their case as a legitimate national championship contender. Miami, meanwhile, has a chance to protect its No. 1 standing and keep itself in a strong position to pursue the top overall playoff seed. With two highly ranked programs meeting under the lights, Saturday's "College GameDay" stop should give fans lots to talk about before the teams finally take the field.
