Rapid City, South Dakota hosted one of the biggest bronc riding events to date on August 18. The biggest names in the game came to ride the rankest horses for big paydays. This event was the finale and concluding event for the 2024 Xtreme Bronc tour.
The top 12 of the PRCA standings and the top 12 of the Xtreme Tour were given the opportunity to compete at the Rapid City Finals event. Two rounds and an average were paid with big checks. This meant the best of the best traveled to South Dakota along their rodeo trail.
The Cowboy Channel brought all the action to fans all over the world as they anxiously watched the best broncs and best bronc riders in the world battle it out for the major payouts. The nationally broadcasted event was hosted by the Central States Fair and Rodeo in conjunction with their annual fair.
The Xtreme Bronc stand alone events are part of the PRCA for saddle bronc riding only. There are also Xtreme Bull Riding and Bareback events. These were approved by the PRCA back in 2016 and has added an immense amount of money up for grabs to those roughstock cowboys trying to make a living on the road, one bronc or bull at a time.
In round 1, World Champion Ryder Wright showed up with an impressive 89.5 point ride on J Bar J's bronc, In the Loud. He took home over $10,000 from that round alone.

NFR Qualifier Allen Boore was 88 points on J Bar J's, Straight Moonshine, in the final round. He topped the leaderboard and added just under $10,000 to his earnings.

Sneaking up on the competition was another NFR Qualifier and big name, Wyatt Casper. Although he did not win either round, his combined score of 174 points on two came out on top. This win boosted his PRCA Standings and gave him over $17,000.
