The New York Mavericks, a new team in the PBR Camping World Team Series, has announced that two world champions will lead the team as coaches. Kody Lostroh, a Ring of Honor inductee and 2009 PBR World Champion, will serve as head coach, and Ednei Caminhas, the 2002 PBR World Champion, will be his assistant. Chris Pantani has been named general manager of the team.

With the addition of the New York Mavericks and the Oklahoma Wildcatters, the PBR Teams league will now have 10 teams competing in the 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series during a 12-event season beginning in July. The New York Mavericks' first homestand will be on August 9-10, 2024, at Barclays Center, marking the first time the Brooklyn arena will host a bull riding event in its 12-year history.

Lostroh, who won 10 premier series events and earned more than $3.2 million during his career, retired from bull riding after the 2014 season. He now has two years of coaching experience as the former assistant coach of the Oklahoma Freedom. Caminhas, one of the longest-tenured bull riders in PBR history, has been active in the sport and has competed across all of the organization's tours, including the elite Unleash The Beast, Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour and Challenger Series.

Pantani, who most recently served as senior brand marketing manager for Goodyear Tire, has over 20 years of experience in senior roles within the customer partnerships, event marketing, and sponsorships group at Cooper Tire. His responsibilities included managing Cooper Tire's sponsorship of the PBR over multiple years.

"We are thrilled that Kody Lostroh, Ednei Caminhas and Chris Pantani have joined as leaders of the New York Mavericks as we work to build a championship bull riding team in the heart of Brooklyn," said Marc Lasry, Avenue Capital's chairman, CEO, and co-founder.

The New York Mavericks team is owned by Avenue Sports Fund, which acquired the sanctioning rights from Professional Bull Riders in February 2024. Avenue Sport Fund provides capital solutions to established teams and leagues across the globe and invests in emerging sports to capitalize on areas of exponential growth.

The bull riding action for the 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series' Mavericks Days at Barclays Center will begin at 7:45 p.m. ET on Friday, August 9, and 6:45 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 10.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Monday, March 4, at 10 a.m. EST, and start at $20. Two-day ticket packages are available, offering fans a 15% discount on select price levels.
