Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Olympian Ilona Maher posted a heartfelt message to her dance partner Alan Bersten on Monday, ahead of the finals of the "Dancing with the Stars."

Throughout their weeks-long journey together, the duo captured the attention of viewers, earning praise for their undeniable on-screen chemistry and captivating stage presence.

As the show nears its highly anticipated finale, the American rugby player and social media star shared an emotional video for Bersten, which she captioned, "Thank you for everything, Alan."

The clip opened with the Olympic medalist expressing her deep gratitude to the pro dancer.

"Dear Alan, no matter what happens, whether we win or lose, I will forever cherish our time together," Maher wrote, alongside behind-the-scenes footage from their “DWTS” journey.

The Olympian also reflected emotionally on their journey, sharing the ups and downs they had experienced together.

“I didn't come onto this show thinking I’d make a connection like this. You are the best dance partner I could have hoped for. We laughed. We cried. We gave it our all. It was not always easy (Actually, it rarely was), but it was so worth it," Maher added.

Ilona Maher also shared how their friendship had impacted her both personally and professionally.

“It will be strange not to see you every day. Just know… You always made me feel beautiful, powerful and worthy out there. You have truly changed me for the better. I hope to find a forever partner in you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything."

Lastly, the 28-year-old rugby star playfully teased Bersten, adding, "With so much love, Ilona (your DWTS Season 33 partner in case you ever forget)."

In response, the pro dancer also mentioned how grateful he was to Maher and expressed how “inspiring” and “truly one of a kind” she is.

In addition to Bersten, the comment section was flooded with fans gushing over Maher’s emotional post.

“Not me crying all over again! This dance partnership was one in a million,” one wrote.

“The sweetest friendship,” a second user added.

“I’m going to miss your videos together. This is a beautiful friendship. Please keep dancing together sometimes!” a third fan remarked.

The finale episode of “DWTS” will air on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. ET, with a runtime of three hours instead of the usual two.
