Well, it was only a matter of time before Chris Athans entered the pro ranks, and as of today, it's official. Deathwish hopped on Instagram sharing pictures of Erik Ellington, Andrew Reynolds and Chris with his debut pro boards, and the skate world is stoked.

If you follow Chris' skating, you know how gnarly the dude is. He's one of those rare skateboarders who just can't do wrong—every clip, every trick—everything just hits. We're super stoked on the news and can't wait to see what this rookie pro brings to the table in the years to come. Peep the post:

Athans is one of those skateboarders who is simply blind to STOP signs, you know? The dude just goes, goes, goes. No wall is safe—hell, no spot is safe—from Chris and his deep, tasteful bag of tricks, and if you ask me, he's one of the funnest dudes to watch skate right now.

In a world of both self-proclaimed pros on one end, and an intimidating batch of hungry, talented skateboarders on the other, Chris' bump to the pro ranks is hard to argue. He's a skateboarder. A ripping skateboarder. And his name deserves to be on a board.

Chris went nuts in the new Deathwish video, as always. If you've been living on Mars and somehow missed it, tap that post above and consume the stoke. It's super rad.

This bump to the pro ranks proves that the big dawgs see something in Chris, and trust him to help push Deathwish's respectful legacy forward. Turning pro is one thing, but turning pro for a brand like Deathwish is major. Skateboarding just got another real one in the pro ranks. This is just the beginning.

What now? Hit your local shop and buy Chris' debut pro board—duh! Congrats, Chris! Ripper.
