Back in July of 2024, Mark Gonzales, Ed Templeton, Natas Kaupas and Lance Mountain teamed up with Girl to graciously contribute their time and creativity to Vol. 2 of the #ModernicaxGirl project, which featured these super limited, one-of-a-kind 'dolls' created by these skateboarding legends.
I won't lie—they weren't exactly priced to sell, but then again, how can you really put a price on something like that? Regardless, those who pre-ordered these little gems should be expecting them soon, but to really tie a knot on the project, Girl also released a limited board series to go along with them. Take a look:
Simply put... This board series is just an added bonus! Rad. And more importantly, they're still technically 'guest' graphics from all these lengendary humans, skateboarders and artists all the same.
If you weren't able to snag one of the limited dolls, this is literally the next best thing! With that said, I can't help but express how insanely awesome it would've been to have one of (or better yet, ALL of) those dolls. Scroll through that post above if you haven't already. I'm sure you'd agree.
A little more about the project from Girl:
"We teamed up with four legends—Lance Mountain, Mark Gonzales, Natas Kaupas, and Ed Templeton—whose influence spans skateboarding and art. Their unique visions brought this project to life, resulting in a collection that celebrates their undeniable impact on skateboarding."
Honestly, just say the names "Lance Mountain, Mark Gonzales, Natas Kaupas" and "Ed Templeton" and you'll always have my full attention—on and/or off the board! Absolute legends. This project was so sick and the board series is such a nice touch.
Again, the dolls are gone! But the boards drop January 7th. You know what to do.
