It's fair to argue that Andrew Allen is your favorite skater's favorite skater. He's low key. Gritty. True to himself. He's gone through some phases, sure, but who hasn't? I'm certainly guilty. My point is this—watch his old parts. His talent speaks for itself. Now watch some of his newer stuff and you'll see that the dude is confidently doing what feels right, and I personally wouldn't have it any other way.
Oh, and he also rips around on his Harley-Davidson Panhead, which is why the crew at DicE Mag recently caught up with him to piece together this rad video courtesy of Mark Kirkland.
“He’s definitely a skater’s skater, you know?” Andrew’s buddy, Nathan Kostechko mentions. “With Andrew, he holds himself at such a high standard, so when he’s out there skating or filming tricks or trying to get a photo, he’s not doing it for everybody else. He’s not doing it to prove a point,” Nathan adds. “He’s just doing it for himself because he wants to do it a certain way. If he doesn’t do it the way he wants, he’s gonna be bummed. So he’s just doing it for himself.”
And although this could be said for plenty of other skateboarders, it just makes sense when you think of where AA is at these days, and I say that in only the best way.
Anyways, I guess the point is that it all funnels into his love for riding his Harley these days in a surprisingly natural way, and honestly, the vibe is pretty infectious. I get it. I'm sure you get it. Andrew definitely gets it. Going fast, exploring with your friends, trekking uncharted territory—sounds like skateboarding to me.
Whatever. Andrew is certainly a skater's skater and the dude has nothing to prove these days, as far as I'm concerned. Whether you’re here for the skating, the bikes, or just Andrew Allen being Andrew Allen, this edit is certainly worth a watch.
Some skaters just stay authentic no matter what, and Allen is one of them.
