You can't keep Dead Air Radio's Steve Fletch out of the Youtube creation zone. His latest helpful video is straight up for the VHS collectors out there, and if you're tuned into his IG stories, you'll see he clocks hours, nightly, rewatching the classics on the medium they were intended.

"In this short episode we will how how to repair a vhs tape, and go over some of the components in the tape. items you will need:

1. A small phillips precision screwdriver

2. scotch tape

3. scissors

4. a razor blade

5. a spare vhs tape if available (for parts if needed)"

Stay up to date with Dead Air's latest:

Yep, all VHS tapes have interchangeable parts, so hit up your local thrift store and stock up on VHS movies so you'll have replacement parts.

The key is cutting out the eaten stretch of tape, be sure to cut at alternate angles (hopefully you're not losing one of the best clips in the video). Stay tuned to the moment of truth at the end of the video—you can see the tape play through the spliced section, but it keeps on going. We're then treated so some classic East Coast footage at the end. Some Brooklyn Banks clips too!

Keep this video bookmarked, and you too can be a VHS restoring MacGyver.

Steve is such a purist, he tries not to watch skate videos on Youtube, only on the original tapes. Now we need one of these videos for cassette tapes! We still play those things!
