Jefferson “Yiyo” Obando has been ripping the streets of Nicaragua and Costa Rica since he was a little kid. Olman Torres—the ripping skater, photographer and founder of Standby Project introduced me to “Yiyo” Obando on a Costa Rica skate trip in 2016. Yiyo’s style, relaxed attitude, perseverance and consistent coverage in Standby created the opportunity to get on the Natural Koncept flow program. Just a year later, Yiyo got put on the PLX team, the Nike SB Central American team and finally bumped up to am for NK. In 2024, Yiyo was invited to join AriZona Iced Tea’s Jackpots & Bullet Trains Tour in Taiwan. Yiyo was adored by all, hung tough and shined hard in the streets with NK Pros Bonestalone, Juan Pablo Velez and JJ Colõn. The amount of footage captured on that 10-day trip was insane!

For the next 12 months, Yiyo went on aggressive filming trips to Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City, Managua, Buenos Aires and Rosario, coppin' clips and shooting flicks the entire way.
