If you follow Nyjah Huston on Instagram, then you know he spent his New Year's Eve in the hospital after fracturing his skull skating what he's referred to as a "massive" rail. And let's be real—if Nyjah is calling it massive, you know it's massive.

He took to Instagram earlier this morning giving us all an update—black eye and all—and the outpour of love and support from the skateboarding community has been really humbling to see.

From Tony Hawk to Leticia Bufoni, your favorite pros, their favorite pros, to fans and supporters across the globe, the comments on the post continue to flood in. Although we haven't seen the footage, this was a obviously a super serious slam. Like, serious-serious. Peep the post below for an update from Jah.

"A harsh reminder how death defying skating massive rails can be," Nyjah wrote on Instagram. "Fractured skull, fractured eye socket. Taking it one day at a time. I hope yall had a better new years then me. We live to fight another day."

Again, the clip obviously hasn't surfaced—although plenty of people are borderline begging for it in the comments—and that's understandable. Sometimes a gnarly slam carries just as much weight as a make... at least in terms of the clip itself. But this one feels a bit more personal.

I can't help but think how fortunate so many gnarly skateboarders are that this doesn't happen more often than it does. Knock on wood, for sure, but seriously—look at what dudes like Nyjah are doing on a daily basis. Some of these spots are literally insane and it takes every ounce of confidence to step to them. One small mistake and it's game over.

Hey, I know you don't need me to tell you that, but at the end of the day, we're just glad to hear that Nyjah is on the mend. Something tells me he'll be back sooner than later.

Anyways, I figured it was as good of a time as any to revisit some of Nyjah's heaviest parts in the last few years. Well, in fairness, they've all been gnarly. But these two always come to mind when the words "Nyjah" and "massive handrails" are mentioned. Here's to a speedy recovery, Nyjah! We're glad you're still with us.
