What an exciting few weeks (shoot, you could say months) it's been, right? There was a lot of energy leading up to the 2024 Paris Olympics and skateboarding once again made its own unique mark at the Games.
We saw so much talent, so much incredible skating and of course, a few heartbreaks. But at the end of the day—it is just skateboarding. That said, it's also the Olympics! That means medals. Curious which county ended up winning the most bling in Paris? Dive in:
Japan: 4 / Australia: 2 / USA: 3 / Brazil: 2 / United Kingdom: 1
Needless to say—despite the country or medals—the level of skateboarding on display this year was absolutely wild. I’m still blown away. Both the Street and Park events delivered some pretty unforgettable moments that will surely be talked about until we arrive in LA for the 2028 Olympics.
Shoutout to all the medalists, skateboarders, coaches, supporters—everyone! It was a real treat to watch all our favs ripping on the World Stage. Hard to imagine the amount of pressure they must've all felt, but they sure made it look like just another session, right?
Gold Medalists: Yuto Horigome (JAP); Yoshizawa Coco (JAP); Arisa Trew (AUS); Keegan Palmer (AUS).
Silver Medalists: Jagger Eaton (USA); Liz Akama (JAP); Cocona Hiraki (JAP); Tom Schaar (USA).
Bronze Medalists: Nyjah Huston (USA); Rayssa Leal (BRA); Sky Brown (GBR); Augusto Akio (BRA)
I don't know about you, but I'm already pretty excited for Los Angeles in 2028. We can expect to see some familiar faces, but at the rate of speed progression moves these days, I won't be surprised to see plenty of fresh faces all the same. With that...we'll see you all in about four years.
