X Games Chiba 2024 Day Two Recap & Results (Cordano's Tricks!)

Men’s Skateboard Street Elimination

X Games newcomer Toa Sasaki from Yokkaichi was sitting in the first qualification spot after the first round of runs, but American Nyjah Huston used the final run of the elimination to jump into the top spot. With seven Japanese athletes competing in the 12-man elimination, Toa led five Japanese athletes in qualifying spots two through six.

Skateboard Vert Final

In a stacked field of previous X Games Vert gold medalists, nine-time medalist Gui Khury earned his first Vert gold medal with the two highest-scoring runs of the session. With a third run that included a body varial 900, a trick that has never been landed in a full Vert contest run, Gui bettered his third run score to increase his lead. At just 15 years old, Gui already has a staggering 10 medals. Chigasaki’s Soya Inomata, who earned X Games Ventura 2024 Vert Best Trick silver, earned his second silver medal. In the final run of the session, Paris Olympic silver medalist Tom Schaar jumped up to take the final podium spot in his first competition of three this weekend.

Women’s Skateboard Street Final

Top qualifier Chloe Covell handily earned her fourth X Games medal ahead of a stacked field of Japanese talent. The Australian landed a first run that included a kickflip down the 12-stair set, frontside feeble grind pop over on bonsai rail, switch backside kickflip on hip, nollie kickflip, backside tailslide bump to box, frontside nosegrind on flat bar, backside Smith grind on 12-stair rail and a 50-50 180 out. In her second X Games, Miyu Ito earned her second medal - first was a gold in Ventura in June - and Liz Akama earned her sixth consecutive X Games medal with a bronze. 

Men’s Skateboard Street Best Trick Final

In his rookie debut at X Games, Osaka’s Keyaki Ike took the gold in Skateboard Street Best Trick with a nollie bigspin heelflip backside tailside to fakie. Also an X Games rookie, Cordano Russell earned a silver medal with a frontside Cab to frontside tailside. Nyjah Huston’s bronze medal is his 24th X Games medal, tying him with BMX athlete Dave Mirra for second-most medals in X Games history.
