But wait, there's more! On top of yesterday's announcement that Vail would add two major Austrian ski areas for next season, Vail has announced two additional Austrian destinations.

In addition to Saalbach and Kitzsteinhorn, the Epic Pass parent company has added Mayrhofen and Hintertux to the pass for the 2025/26 season as well. Both resorts are in the Zillertal valley and just 45 minutes from the Innsbruck airport. The two resorts have 120 miles of groomed slopes between the Hintertux Glacier, Eggalm, Rastkogel, Finkenberg, Penken, and Ahorn areas within the two resorts.

With that much terrain, skiers of all types are sure to find suitable and enjoyable terrain. Beginners will find plenty of gentle groomers on the Ahorn plateau. Expert skiers will enjoy the Harakiri slope, Austria's steepest slope with a gradient of 78%. Mayrhofen is the spot for freestyle skiers and park enthusiasts with its Penken Park.

"Mayrhofen and Hintertux are exciting additions to the Epic Pass, where the thrill of Austria’s steepest slope experience meets the endless powder of the Hintertux Glacier,” said Bill Rock, President of Vail Resorts’ Mountain Division.

The Hintertux Glacier area also offers skiing into the summer months thanks to its glaciated terrain and high elevation. “The Hintertux Glacier is well known amongst skiers around the world – in fact, many U.S. ski racers have trained here,” said Klaus Dengg, CEO at Hintertux Glacier.

Mayrhofen, Hintertux, Saalbach, and Zell am See-Kaprun join Skirama Dolomiti, Les 3 Vallées, Verbier 4 Vallées, Crans Montana, Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis, and Ski Arlberg for European destinations on the Epic Pass, as well as their 37 North American resorts. Epic Passes are now on sale for $1,051 for adults and $537 for children. Prices will increase after May 26th.
