In case you didn’t know, you should be washing your Gore-Tex outerwear regularly. According to Arc’teryx, heavily-used gear should be washed after every five to eight days of use, while lighter-use garments should be washed every 10 to 20 days. In other words, if your gear is covered in grime, looks or feels dirty, or is no longer beading water off the surface, it's time for a wash.
Next week, from September 21-25, Arc’teryx is offering complimentary washing for Gore-Tex gear at many of their retail locations during their Gore-Tex Wash Week 2024 campaign. If you have a favorite Arc’teryx shell jacket or pant that needs some love, bring it by your local storefront and they will inspect, wash, and re-treat it for you to get you set up for the upcoming season.
If you can’t make it, or don’t live near an Arc’teryx location, don’t sweat. Here’s a quick how-to video on how to properly wash your gear.
