Aspen Snowmass, in Colorado, made up of Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass, has, as of April 7th, closed Aspen Highlands, leaving two out of four mountains open.

Officials at Aspen reported that "Mother Nature and our community combined for another perfect closing day at Aspen Highlands. Two mountains down, two to go!" See below.

Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands were the first to go, with Buttermilk closing on March 31st, and Aspen Highlands closing on April 7th.

Next up is Snowmass, scheduled to close on April 14th, and last but certainly not least is Aspen Mountain itself, closing on April 21st.

Aspen Highlands received 2 inches of fresh snow over the last 2 days, and 8 inches over the last week.

Aspen Highlands offers backcountry-style terrain in-bounds with The Highland Bowl, as opposed to Buttermilk's more family-oriented terrain.

The Highlands Alehouse hosted the annual closing day party, and from the looks of it, things got pretty rowdy.

People show up in costume all day, and when the lifts close, things really get loud. Dancing commences and people express their gratitude for the ski season in typical Aspen fashion.

Fear not, if you missed the celebration or a trip to Aspen Highlands. Skiers can still ski 2 out of 4 of Aspen's peaks. But sadly, not for much longer.
