A 53-year-old man was killed in a ski accident at Solitude Resort in Utah on Saturday, February 22.

The man has been identified as Daniel Negrelli, who had been an instructor at Killington, Vermont since 1997.

Officials reported that Negrelli was found unresponsive near the base of a tree. Detectives currently believe Negrelli crashed into the tree. He was wearing proper ski attire, including a helmet at the time of the supposed crash.

"Over the years, he made a lasting impact as a mentor, leader, and friend to many within our community. Dan’s love for skiing and teaching was evident in everything he did. He was not only a dedicated instructor but also a passionate supporter of the sport, always willing to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. His presence on the mountain will be sorely missed," read a statement sent to NBC5 by Killington officials, who were 'deeply saddened' to learn of Negrelli's death.

Negrelli also hosted at a local nightclub, owned by Chris Karr who said Negrelli would be remembered fondly as the 'nicest guy,' and extended his condolences to the friends and family.

Negrelli left his mark on Killington and the surrounding community. He was known as one of the most welcoming, kind folks around.

POWDER extends its deepest condolences to Negrelli's family, friends, and all those affected by the tragedy.
