Big Sky Changing Access To Lone Peak Tram After "Year Of Learnings"

Here's how the new system is going to work.

All single and multi-day lift tickets offer unlimited tram access, as do Gold Season Passes. Similar to last season, Double Black Season Passes will come preloaded with 25 tram rides. 

"Guests with other forms of access, such as Ikon, Mountain Collective, or other Big Sky passes, will be able to access the Lone Peak tram via Autocharge on a per-ride cost basis," notes the FAQ page for Big Sky's 2024-2025 pass offerings.

Big Sky is maintaining the pay-per-ride system across multiple pass offerings to "manage rider frequency and the ski experience off Lone Peak."

Big Sky charging for Lone Peak Tram rides isn't a new development. Before the new Tram was constructed, the resort had already made skiers pay an additional fee to ski off Lone Peak. However, during seasons before the winter of 2023-2024, skiers paid for the Tram on a per-day basis rather than a per-ride basis.

Passes for next winter go on sale in early April.
