Yesterday, Brighton Resort, Utah, announced that it would officially close on April 28th and shared additional details about its season extension: the Meltdown.

Last winter, Brighton Resort hosted the Milly Meltdown, a season extension in May that offered lift-accessed skiing via the Milly Express lift.

The rest of the resort was closed during this extension, which proved particularly popular amongst the freestyle crowd, who took advantage of Brighton's spring park.

Brighton is hosting the second annual May extension this season, although it appears the resort plans to use a lift other than the Milly Express.

"Which lift do you think the Meltdown will be on?" the resort wrote on Instagram, hinting at a change to its extension program.

This season's iteration of the Meltdown will start after Brighton's official closing on May 3rd, offering skiing until May 19th. The resort will reveal the Meltdown's lift tomorrow.

Brighton has picked up a whopping 56 inches of snow in the past seven days, bringing its season snowfall total to 526 inches. In an average season, Brighton sees 500 inches of snow.

After a little break, that snow will get to see more action at Brighton come May.
