Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is here—Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, has confirmed its closing timeline.
The ski resort, known for offering Colorado’s longest ski and ride season, will remain open seven days a week until June 1, 2025.
Then, it’ll temporarily close for the following week, between June 2 and June 5, with a few more days of lift-accessed ski operations planned for June 6, 7, and 8.
June 8, 2025 for now, is Arapahoe Basin’s stated closing date. But it might be open an additional weekend that month, depending on the weather and conditions. “We need cool temps and grey skies to get us there,” noted an email from an Arapahoe Basin representative.

In an effort to keep the spring skiing party going, Arapahoe Basin is hosting its annual Festival of the Brewpubs this coming Memorial Day weekend. For $35, you can score entry to the festival, an Arapahoe Basin glass beer cup, and unlimited refills from a wide selection of local breweries (enjoy responsibly, of course).
Arapahoe Basin’s summer season is scheduled to begin on June 27 and features North America’s highest Via Ferrata, the Aerial Adventure Park, biking, hiking, live music, and more.
As Arapahoe Basin thinks about winding down, other North American spring skiing hotspots are doing the same.
Palisades Tahoe, California, closes on May 26, 2025. Mammoth Mountain, California, will remain open into June but hasn’t confirmed a closing date quite yet. Timberline Lodge, Oregon, as is tradition, will remain open for skiing deep into the warmer months. Beartooth Basin, Wyoming, a unique summer-only ski area, is eyeing an opening date of May 28, weather and conditions permitting, according to its website.
All told, there are myriad ways to keep the ski season going for a bit longer, and, in our opinion, the late-season offerings on tap shouldn’t be missed. Powder’s great and all, but ripping a slushy groomer in a T-shirt might be skiing’s holy grail, particularly when you don’t have to wait in a long lift line afterward.
