Classic ski movies. Free beer. Hanging with your pals. If you’re based in Denver, Colorado, four ski movie nights are on the docket that shouldn’t be missed.
It’s all part of the First Friday Movie Night program from the ski film legends Level 1. Held in the parking lot of Level 1’s office building (here’s where to find it on Google Maps) at 7:30 p.m. MST, every showing is free. The movies start at 8:30 p.m. MST.
These are the dates for Summer 2025:
June 6 — Realtime (Level 1)
July 11 — Zig Zag (Level 1)
August 1 — Pleasure (Level 1)
September 5 — Teddybear Crisis (Push Films)
In addition to watching classic films with likeminded people, Level 1 is serving up free beer from Pub Beer.
Before the last showing in September, Level 1 is hosting its annual garage sale at 5:00 p.m. MST that’ll include loads of deeply discounted deadstock and used gear from Level 1 and the production company’s industry friends.
This post probably put it best.

Each of the films included in the series is worth seeing at least once (or for the tenth time—they're classics).
The 2007 release Realtime includes the likes of Tanner Rainville, Wiley Miller, and Corey Vanular. Zig Zag dropped in 2018 and features Parker White, Laurent De Martin, and Sämi Ortlieb, to name a small number of the stellar cast. The most recent release, Romance, came out in 2019 and is, as its name implies, a love letter to freeskiing.
Teddybear Crisis, the only ski movie not made by Level 1 in the mix, was the mid-2000s brainchild of Henrik Rostrup and Kris Ostness. It’s considered to be one of the best freeskiing films of all time and includes footage of the towering Chad’s Gap, plus skiing from Tanner Hall and Simon Dumont, among others.
In short, the summer’s long, hot, and, at times, dull. You know what isn’t boring, though? Catching up on your ski movie history and, if you’re lucky, meeting some best friends to go skiing with. In-person ski events beat the doom scroll any day of the week.
