We begged, we pleaded, but Fischer held their mouths shut about the release of their newest freeride ski. In reality, Fischer's latest ski drop is actually a pretty cool move. In a world where our actual ski experience can often be sidelined by pre-conceived notions (things like the "cool" factor, or even just a stated waist width), the fact that Fischer isn't saying a thing about the dimensions, shape, construction, or tech inside a new ski is pretty cool.

Maybe they're just slapping a white topsheet on a Ranger 116 and hiding behind some clever marketing? I doubt it. The idea of getting rid of any premeditated intentions and letting the ski speak for itself is honestly very clever. I wish I thought of that.

Here's what we do know:

Fischer launched a landing page featuring a few lines of text, a release date of February 1, 2026, and dropped a few photos and a short video of an all-white ski in decidedly non-skiing locations. The ski looks pretty similar to one of the larger Ranger models (like the 108 and 116), with a squared-off tail, a large, round, rockered tip, and will come in very long 186 and 196cm lengths. Those are huge! My guess? A hard-charging FWT-ready ripper designed mostly for athlete team shenanigans.

The text reads: "We have leaned into this idea of nothing, but never exactly clarified from where or why we are doing it other than being the first ever ski to not include it's specs. A unique marketing idea, but there's a deeper reason. So Why? Because the ski doesn't need to tell you how it should ski. It's waiting to be told, by you. It's based on the feeling of the rider with no predetermined information."

Fischer's team adds another cryptic line: "In the future of ski construction, nothing becomes something only when nothing is left to add, and nothing is more innovative than the nothing we have yet to imagine.”
