The snow faucets are on in New South Wales, Australia.

The southern hemisphere's largest ski area has been getting snow fairly consistently for the last 10 days.

This latest dump marks Perisher's first big storm of the year with 10cm of snow falling in the last 24 hours. The mountain lies within Kosciuszko National Park on Mt. Kosciuszko, and is known for having some of the most consistent snowfall of any resort in Australia. Webcams at Perisher currently show a solid amount of snow piled up on the stake and have the tell-tale storm whiteout in other places.

Snow is expected to taper off through the week at Perisher, but potentially pick back up early next week, helping to build up the ski area's early season base. Perisher is currently scheduled to open for the winter season on June 7, 2025, coinciding with the ski areas's Peak Music Festival.

Perisher is part of the Epic Pass Australia, which also gives access to Falls Creek and Hotham ski areas and is currently available for $1,229. The mountain's 3,000 skiable acres, 110 trails, and 1,165 feet in vertical drop make for one of Australia's best resorts. Over the Australian summer, Perisher upgraded the old Mt. Double and Triple chairs to the Mt. P 6 lift, resulting in a large terrain expansion as well.
