Rivaling the Olympics as one of the biggest events in sports, the Tour de France wrapped up over this past weekend in Paris.
The 23-day road cycling race draws massive amounts of viewership worldwide as it weaves its way through France in 21 stages. The race's final stage takes place in the country's capital city, Paris, starting at the Mantes-La-Ville and ending on the famous Champs-Élysées.
This year, the final Tour stage included a new section as cyclist climbed up the Côte de la Butte Montmartre, which has a 5.9% grade, three times before the iconic Champs-Élysées sprint finish that's taken place in the Tour for more than 50 years.
Because people can't seem to get enough of destroying their ski gear during races that have nothing to do with skiing in Paris (seriously, what is with this trend?), two French sport influencers decided to ski down the Côte de la Butte Montmartre before the Tour stage race for an Instagram video.

A quick scroll through their instagram page shows that these two have done this for several other Tour stages to show how steep some of the climbs are, particularly those from Stage 17, which ends near the Courchevel ski area.
All things considered, it's actually a pretty funny way to create Tour coverage that appeals to skiers as well. While a 'first ski descent' of the Côte de la Butte Monmartre is certainly a feat, we can't help but feel bad for this pair of skis...
