Many ski resorts across the West are reporting snowfall totals that are below-average for this time of year, but not Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR).
The big mountain and powder skiing paradise just passed 400 inches of total snowfall after another deep storm came rolling through the Tetons.
As of today, March 18, 2025, JHMR is reporting 412" of total snow at The Summit, and 334" mid-mountain, not too far off the mountain's stated average of 458" each season.

Jackson Hole commits to a firm closing date each season regardless of snowfall and conditions. This season, the mountain will spin lifts for the final time on Sunday, April 13, 2025. With 26 days of operations until then, JHMR is poised to pass their annual average with flying colors (or at least we hope so).
OpenSnow is tracking multiple weak storms that will bring 9-11 inches of snowfall through Thursday, March 27, 2025. Additional systems are possible throughout the remainder of the month.
It's been a weird season across the West, but snowfall and cold temps have seemingly remained consistent at JHMR.
The mountain picked up a few rain showers from a warm system that moved through in early February, but the powder party has continued ever since. Over 40 inches of snow fell during the week of JHMR's Kings & Queens of Corbet's Couloir alone. Some Jackson locals used phrases like 'all-time' and 'best conditions ever' to describe the particularly snowy streak.
Let's take a look at how JHMR stacks up against other big name ski resorts across the country to put this season into perspective. All season-to-date snowfall totals have been obtained from each ski resort's website on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Ski resorts listed in alphabetical order.
Alta Ski Area, Utah: 462"
Alyeska, Alaska: 573"
Breckenridge, Colorado: 238"
Brundage, Idaho: 328"
Grand Targhee, Wyoming: 391"
Jay Peak, Vermont: 408"
Mt. Bachelor, Oregon: 394"
Mt. Baker, Washington: 493"
Palisades Tahoe, California: 326"
Whitefish, Montana: 236"
Winter 24/25 most likely won't go down as a record-breaking season for JHMR, but when your average snowfall exceeds 450 inches, and you're flirting with that number in Mid-March, there's plenty to smile about.
For all of our friends in the Jackson area, take an extra pow lap for us, okay? Have fun, and stay safe out there, friends.
