Famed ski racer Lindsey Vonn is also famously a *big* dog person.
In 2016, Vonn adopted her dog Lucy, who was by her side pretty much constantly for years. Through the stresses of travel and injury that come with a high-level ski racing career. After nine years, Lucy sadly passed away in March of 2025.
"Today my sweet, sweet Lucy left us," wrote Vonn back in March. "9 years ago she came into my life, and from the very first moment until the very last, she brought so much light and love to me and everyone she met. We traveled the world together, skied, hiked, biked, explored, went down waterfalls, up in air balloons, to the Olympics… we went on SO many incredible adventures together, and created so many memories that I am beyond lucky to have shared with her. We even had our own TV show! There was nothing Lucy couldn’t do! She was never scared, never hesitant to try something new, she was always happy, loved big and unconditionally. There will never be enough words to describe how much I love her and my heart will never ever be the same without her. There will never be another Lucy."
While there may never be another dog that replaces Lucy, Vonn posted to her Instagram yesterday, August 3, 2025, to say she'd adopted a new dog.
Chance, who appears to be a King Charles Spaniel, may not be Lucy, but dang is he cute. Check him out below.

The photos and videos in the post alone are enough to make anyone fall in love with his classic, droopy King Charles Eyes, and wonder how soft his ears must be.
Vonn looks elated, and Chance looks to be getting along with Vonn's other dog, Leo, just fine.
"Meet Chance Vonn, the newest member of the family. After losing Lucy I had a very hard time… I wasn’t sure what I would do next… but I saw his face and I knew it was meant to be. Thankful for this blessing," wrote Vonn in the post.
The pain of losing a pet is truly an awful one, so we're happy to see this perky little guy in Vonn's life. We're looking forward to seeing many, many more photos of Chance on Vonn's social media.
For real, Lindsey, if you're reading this, keep the puppy pics coming, he's freaking adorable.
