Lindsey Vonn proved this week that she's a woman of many talents.
It's been an eventful year for Vonn, who came out of retirement and placed second in the Super-G for the World Cup Finals. The three-time Olympic medalist proved she's more than capable of competing against the best skiers in the world even at 40 years old.
"Never in a million years would I have ever expected to be back here," Vonn said. "I mean, when I saw you last, it was emotional because I was ending my career and that was it. That was the end, and I definitely wish that it hadn’t been the end because I love skiing and it’s always been my passion since I was a kid, but my body was no longer cooperating. Thankfully with this partial knee replacement, now I’m lucky enough to have the chance again."
Vonn is feeling so good right now that she's picking up a few hobbies.
In April, Vonn shared a video of her wake-surfing with dolphins in Miami. Fast forward to July, and she learned how to rope. On Wednesday, she shared a video of her skills on Instagram.
"Someone learned how to rope…!!! Went to the rodeo and decided I wanted to learn a new skill my friends are really good at," Vonn wrote. "Thanks @officialcodyohl for the lessons! Learning from a 6x world champ made it a quick study. Maybe next summer when I have a lot of time I’ll get into this more? Giddy up!"
Before Vonn gets fully involved in rodeo, she'll compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics. At least that's her plan right now.
"I have had very few opportunities in my life to race a speed event in the United States, and so I wanted to maximize that opportunity. And I think that also gives me confidence going to Cortina and knowing that I can perform when the pressure is high, I still have what it takes. And of course I have to qualify, but after today, I feel really optimistic about my chances," Vonn said in March.
We can't wait to see what the future has in store for Vonn.
