The 2025 ESPYs, ESPN's annual award show and arguably the biggest in sports, were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Big-name celebrities, world-class athletes, and Hollywood luminaries packed the theatre to the brim to celebrate last year's best professional athletic achievements.

Lindsey Vonn, the second-winningest female ski racer of all time, and arguably one of the United States' most famous skiers ever, was nominated for Best Comeback Athlete following an unprecedented return to World Cup ski racing last season.

While she ultimately lost the award to gymnast Suni Lee, Vonn impressed on the ESPYs red carpet, and presented the Best Play award alongside NFL quarterback Lamar Jackson, in a different dress, it's worth noting.

Vonn is always polished when she makes such appearances on national television, but the night before, and a candid Instagram story, paint a different picture.

According to a short video shared to Vonn's Instagram story just a few hours before the ESPYs, she was hungover, and forgot deodorant. "It's rough out there," Vonn says to the camera while holding a bottle of Tylenol and laughing. See below.

Why did Vonn have a hangover the day of the ESPYs? Don't worry, she had a valid excuse (not that she needs one). Her longtime sponsor, energy drink company Red Bull, had thrown a star-studded party the night before to celebrate 20 years of working together.

"What a night!!! Celebrated 20 years with Red Bull with friends and the team," wrote Vonn the morning after the party and the day of the ESPYs. "When you have good people supporting you, the whole journey is so much better!! Thank you for always believing in me… who would have thought I’d be here 20 years later… (heart emoji) you guys!"

Most of Vonn's Instagram posts from the Red Bull 20th anniversary party have eclipsed their 24-hour shelf life, but the gathering looked like a blast. Red Bull-mixed cocktails were flowing and stars like skateboarder Ryan Sheckler and gymnast Simone Biles showed up to support.

Sheckler offered a quote about Vonn's success for a recent Red Bull article written by POWDER's very own Izzy Lidsky: "Lindsey is an absolute stud! What an incredible career she has had and she isn’t even close to done. I have had nothing but good times with LV and I’m a huge fan," says Sheckler.

Lindsey Vonn is one of skiing's biggest stars. Hangovers, multiple public engagements in consecutive days, and rubbing elbows with the world's most-famous people is just part of the gig.

She'll be 41-years-old at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics, but don't count her out of medal contention. If we know anything about Lindsey, it's that when she's all-in, she's all-in.
