Last month, a man ran an actual 26.2 mile marathon in ski boots

Videos of Mike Humphreys hobbling his way through the Paris marathon have been circulating the internet for the last few weeks. Amongst the many questions that folks have had such as 'why on earth would you do this?' and 'how long did it take?' there's been at least one burning question in my mind that's now been answered.

What state were those poor boots in after pounding pavement for 26 miles??

We don't know beat up Humpheys' Technica Cochise 130 boots were after the race, but the lovely folks at Blizzard-Tecnica assumed, probably correctly, that he could use a new pair.

"Major respect to @mikeyhumph who not only chased this wild idea—but did so to raise money for a friend battling Motor Neuron Disease. There’s a fresh pair of boots headed Mike’s way. He certainly earned them," wrote Blizzard-Tecnica in a social media caption,

The ski & boot brand reposted videos and photos of Humphreys during his endeavor as well as his Strava of the race to say they had sent him a new pair of boots. A truly tender moment on the 'gram.

Humpheys ran the Paris Marathon in his ski boots as part of a larger project to run 30 marathons in 30 days, and complete a series of other wacky challenges in ski boots in order to raise money to support a friend with Motor Neuron Disease. As of May 8, 2024, Humphreys had raised more than 34,000 euros for the cause.

Hopefully, for both the sake of his feet and the new Cochise 130s on their way, he chooses to run any future marathons in running shoes, or at least something that's not made of all plastic. Tecnica makes a trial running shoe, so maybe next time they'll send him a pair of those.
