The greatest alpine ski racer of all-time is multi-talented, imagine that.
Mikaela Shiffrin has been entertaining her social media followers with a slew of posts this spring. The majority of which show glimpses from her offseason training regiment at places like Copper Mountain, Colorado, and various lifestyle posts like beachside hangs, announcing her ownership of a new women's professional soccer team in Denver, and sitting court side at a Nuggets game.
There are two posts, however, that have stuck out over the last week. In the caption of a post about spring skiing training, Shiffrin teases a, "secret project" that she can't wait to share. The second post features Shiffrin strumming a guitar and singing a cover of 'Breathe (2am)' by Anna Nalick.
Shiffrin has posted clips of her signing and playing guitar before, but the caption of the latter post has all of us here at POWDER intrigued. "So excited to share something fun very soon," writes Shiffrin in the caption. "Best guesses what it is?"

Shiffrin's followers have flooded the comments section with approval and speculation about what the somewhat cryptic post might mean. Is the "secret project" an album? Or maybe it's a single? Perhaps a music video?
It's hard to say what Shiffrin's secret project exactly is at this point, but we're betting it has something to do with her beautiful voice and adept guitar playing skills. Shiffrin's followers seem to agree, but an aspirational comment really stuck out.
"Hosting SNL? (You should)", writes one commenter responding to Shiffrin's ask for guesses around her secret project. Shiffrin responded, "Would love to someday if they’ll have me!". The response confirms that the secret project is not an upcoming hosting gig at Saturday Night Live (SNL), but could Shiffrin host the ever-popular late night sketch show one day?
Johnny Moseley became the first and only professional skier to host the show back in March of 2002, but who says Shiffrin can't become the second? All of us here at POWDER would be floored if that happens someday.
We'll keep our eyes peeled on Shiffrin's social channels for more details about the upcoming secret project. Our bet is that Shiffrin will drop some form of a musical album, but we'll have to wait and see!
