It’s June. It’s starting to get hot. Skiing, for many of us, is slowly dissolving into the realm of distant memory.

There’s one surefire way to keep the sport fresh in our minds, though, and that’s through tracking the slow trickle of ski edits being released online this time of year from the likes of freestyle mastermind Jesper Tjäder.

Tjäder, in a video that fits the mostly snowless theme of this month, just released old footage documenting his journey to Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2023, where he shredded the dry slopes of CopenHill. It's good. Tap or click below to watch.

Tjäder’s video is timely for another reason, too. Each June for several years running, CopenHill has been the site of the Scandinavian Team Battle, where teams of two European skiers throw down on a bevy of freestyle features in pursuit of first place.

Tjäder won't be competing this year due to an injury, but he'll still be involved with the competition as a judge.

Here’s the skier roster:

Sweden: Joel Magnusson and Emil Granbom

Denmark: Jakob Ebskamp and Gorm Garth-Grüner

France: Alaïs Develay and Mateo Socquet

Finland: Harald Hellström and Elias Syrja

Norway: Mikkel BK and Mats Bjørndal

New for this season is an open qualifier, with the top two skiers earning a ticket to the professional competition, along with VIP passes. Tjäder is set to be the main judge of the open jam.

The competition kicks off on June 14 and will include street food, drinks, a DJ set, and an after party. In short, if you happen to be in Copenhagen on the right day, the summer skiing throwdown shouldn’t be missed.

Nor should Tjäder’s street skiing video from December 2024. For years, Tjäder has been known for his out-of-control park builds like those featured in his Unrailistic projects, but watching him in a simpler (yet still absurd) format is just as good, if not better.
