A man suspected of stealing multiple pairs of skis at Deer Valley, Utah, has been arrested, according to local authorities and news reports.
The suspect, a 22-year-old male, was linked to an incident where a Deer Valley guest’s skis went missing on March 12, KPCW reports.
Police reviewed the resort’s security camera footage and spotted the man walking away with the stolen pair of skis. Three days later, the suspect appeared again at Deer Valley in the security camera footage using the skis he had taken on March 12.
Per the security camera footage viewed by police, the suspect’s ski thefts appeared to date back to April 2024, KPCW reports. Since last winter, he has been seen on camera removing four different pairs of skis from Deer Valley.

Police searched the suspect’s apartment near Brigham Young University on March 27.
They said a Subaru had a pair of skis that matched the description of the ones stolen on its roof, KPCW reports. In the suspect’s apartment were more skis that matched the description of those that had been stolen.
The suspect allegedly admitted to stealing an additional pair of skis at Brighton, Utah.
He was booked on March 27 at the Summit County Jail but has been released. Per the conditions of his release, he cannot return to Deer Valley.
“After months of diligent work, our Investigations team successfully tied together multiple ski-gear thefts from the past year, leading to the arrest of the suspect responsible. The owners of the gear have been notified of the recovered property,” the Park City Police Department wrote on Facebook.
“We want to commend our investigators for their relentless efforts, and thank the Deer Valley Security team, for bringing this case to a close,” the police added.
