Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn had an unfortunate update to share with her fans right before the weekend begins.

Vonn, 41, suffered a complex tibia fracture during Sunday's downhill race at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games. There were concerns about her health heading into this year's Olympics because she was competing on a ruptured ACL.

After crashing hard during the downhill race, Vonn had to be airlifted off the course and taken to a hospital in Treviso. She revealed earlier this week that she has already had three procedures done.

"I had my 3rd surgery today and it was successful. Success today has a completely different meaning than it did a few days ago," Vonn said Wedesday. "I'm making progress and while it is slow, I know I'll be ok."

Another procedure on the way.

Vonn revealed Friday that she needs to undergo surgery at least two more times, which includes a procedure this weekend.

“It’s been a quiet hard few days here in the hospital here. I’m finally feeling more like myself, but I have a long way to go,” Vonn said in a video shared on Instagram. “Tomorrow, I’ll have another surgery and hopefully that goes well. Then I can potentially leave and go back home, at which point I’ll need another surgery. Don’t know exactly what that entails until I get some better imaging."

As Vonn prepares for her fourth surgery, athletes and fans around the world are keeping her in their thoughts.

"Sending good vibes," Olympic gymnast Simone Biles said.

"Stay Strong LV! Wishing you all the best for the surgery tomorrow," German tennis player Sabine Lisicki commented. "Sending a big hug your way."

"Sending you love and hugs and wish we could be there with you, but please know we think about you all the time," Tamara Kalinic wrote.

"Lindsey, thank you for updating. We are all worried and here for you. Whatever you need reach out," one person said.

"Sending prayers," another Instagram user wrote.

Hopefully, Vonn's procedure this weekend goes according to plan.

In the meantime, the sports world will continue to pray for the three-time Olympic medalist.
