Red Bull and Jesper Tjäder's Unrailistic, which is headed to Åre, Sweden, on April 25th and April 26th, is set to once again push the boundaries of competitive freeskiing.

You might recognize Unrailistic from Tjäder's popular video series of the same name. In these viral edits, Tjäder constructed and shredded an increasingly wacky slew of rail features that wavered between freeskiing and something you might see during Cirque du Soleil.

The competition version of Unrailistic aims to capture that same zany energy. It pits athletes against trampolines, zig-zagging rails, and other bizarre combinations of metal and snow, with a relaxed judging format that encourages creativity and risk-taking.

The funkiest feature on tap this year is likely "The Wave"—a combined rail and wall ride feature surrounded by water.

Last winter was Unrailistic's official debut, which, despite challenging weather conditions, went off without a hitch, delivering on Tjäder's goal of expanding his initial vision to a broader group of skiers.

The event's pinnacle was the return of "retired" freeskiing legend Andreas Håtveit, who won in the men's field.

And, later this month, it's all happening again. To tune in to the Unrailistic finals live, click here.
